National Convention 2026: SWAPS!

One of my favorite things about convention, or any Girl Scout meetup, is SWAPS!

My SWAP

Here is my SWAP this year: a Texas-shaped waffle!
Many hotels in Texas have a Texas-shaped waffle on their breakfast bar in the morning. I think they are adorable and wanted to share one with others. I made mine from wood, resin, and a piece of yellow foam.

SWAPS I Received

Here I’ve taken a picture of all the SWAPS I received this year in Washington, D.C.
Do you see yours in the photo? Some are missing tags so let me know if it was from you!

Lets talk about these swaps. I was only there for one day this time and didn’t get to swap as many as I had wanted. This time I receievd several stickers (top left), quite a few animals (in the middle), some buttons (top left), several bracelets (top right – isn’t that smore just adorable?), a few patches (bottom right), and things in bags (bottom left – thanks for putting the stars in a bag!). Can you see the fidget in the middle? Althought all you can see is dark blue, it’s acutally layered with the vest colors of all levels. There are tons of awesome swaps here, and I definitely have memories associated with several.

Here are a few examples:
– The frog. She said she made it because she loves frogs. Thats an awesome reason!
– The Texas ones from Rebecca and Rachel. Rachel and I worked at Walt Disney World together a long time ago, and this was the first time we have seen each other since! (We knew we were both there and had planned to meet up.)
– The two hearts were from the Build-A-Bear booth where one of the ladys working it was chatting with me about Zeph. I gave her a swap and she returned with the hearts.

I feel like there were a lot of adorable animals this year.

SWAP Stop

In this photo you may recognize swaps from the SWAP Stop!

Melanie Getz and her father have become a familiar part of National Convention SWAP culture, bringing more than 16,000 SWAPS to Columbus in 2017 and over 45,000 to Orlando in 2023! Their SWAPS returned to the convention floor in Washington, D.C. in 2026, brought by a friend when Melanie couldn’t attend.

We love and appreciate what she and her dad are doing.

SWAPS Holder

I also traded a SWAP for this awesome wrist SWAP holder a girl made. I’ve seen hats, banners, and lanyards, but a wrist one is such a cute idea!

I do happen to have a bunch of my SWAPS left. I do SWAP trades with those who have a bunch of swaps left from events. You can find more information on the Trades and Swaps page.

Let’s talk SWAPS! Which one pictured here would you have grabbed first? And if you have a favorite SWAP from a past event or Convention, tell me about it in the comments!
